The Proposal: 12/7/2025

Billy pulled off the ultimate surprise with the help of some very sneaky friends. He coordinated with Jackie and Eliot who live on a nearby course to secure a tee time, cleverly disguising it as their idea. Lacey played the entire round completely clueless. In fact, on the 17th hole, she even joked to Jackie saying, “I wonder when I’m going to get engaged,” having absolutely no idea what was about to happen. Behind the scenes, Billy had also enlisted Lacey’s best friend Cameron (now her Maid of Honor) and her husband Nick to bring the ring to the course. Along with Kerri (who flew in from New York) and Elise (both now bridesmaids), they worked closely with the staff, secretly placing the box inside the 18th cup at the right moment, carefully tracking where Lacey and Billy were on the course and even giving a heads-up to nearby groups so no one spoiled the surprise. It was cold, Lacey was playing terribly, and by the time she reached the 18th green she was ready to be done. She picked up her ball instead of finishing the hole (even though it wasn't quite a gimmie), only to hear gasps from the group insisting, “Just finish the hole, Lacey!”. Still completely oblivious, she finally putted... and that’s when she saw a box inside the cup. Even then, it didn’t click. Lacey remembers saying, “Is this an engagement ring? Is someone getting engaged?” She opened the box, turned around, and finally saw Billy down on one knee. Suddenly, it all made sense, someone was getting engaged. It was her. Before she could even process the moment, Lacey looked to her left and saw her friends emerge from a hill behind the green where they had been hiding, waiting for the big reveal. Everything after that was a blur and through the happy tears, Lacey said yes. The surrounding groups and course staff erupted into applause, champagne was popped, and hugs and cheers followed. The celebration continued on the course before everyone headed out to dinner together to keep the festivities going. It was perfect, personal, and completely unforgettable.

Attire: Coastal Cocktail Elevated coastal style.Men can skip the jacket and tie in favor of lightweight button-downs or polos. Women may wear dresses of any length and color, patterns and prints are welcome. This event will be outdoors. _________________________________

- Wedding & Reception -

Attire: Formal We kindly ask guests to wear formal attire in soft shades of blue, green, yellow, tan, or gray. Women are encouraged to wear long, formal dresses (solid colors or prints are both welcome). Men are requested to wear full suits or dress pants with a blazer and tie (tuxedos not required). Please note that jeans are not permitted. The ceremony will take place outdoors on grass, so we recommend keeping footwear in mind. Dress Code

My sister, my best friend, and now my maid of honor. Gabrielle has always been my constant, whether we’re being annoyingly goofy together or supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. As my big sister, our age difference is something we’ve never really felt, we’ve always been incredibly close (I was attached to her hip, almost quite literally, when I was little). I’m so thankful to have her play such a huge role in my life and now in our wedding day.

Gabrielle

I've always believed in the importance of having a younger brother to push you to be a better athlete, student and person. That is exactly what Bobby did for me. I'm the man I am today because I wanted to set the best example I could. It was a no-brainer asking him to be my best man because he's been my best friend since we were playing wiffle ball in the backyard and shooting hoops in the driveway.

Cam and I have been inseparable ever since meeting in college at Penn State, she was basically an extra roommate to me. I even followed her to Raleigh, and thankfully, otherwise I would have never met Billy! We've often talked about the day she would stand by my side when I got married, wondering when that could be, and now that it’s happening, it feels surreal. I'm so grateful for our friendship, the sister-like bond we share, and our countless memories.

Cameron

Chris would come to our house so often that it started feeling like he was family. That was until he married my cousin and actually became family. I still can't believe they trusted me to officiate their wedding. We first met playing Little League and only got closer over the years by winning golf tournaments together, visiting friends in London and yelling at the five TV setup I had in the basement.

Billy’s sister and my future sister-in-law, Sammy, and I have grown so close even from many miles apart (she lives in Minnesota with her husband, and also groomsman, Brenden!). I’m so lucky to be gaining such an awesome sister and, of course, the cutest nephew, Robby. I can’t wait to share many milestones and special moments together for years to come.

Samantha

If your sister ever goes to Minnesota, meets a guy and eventually marries him, you want him to be like Brenden. I see how happy he makes my sister and that is a testament to the man he is. I've only known Bren for a few years but he has been a great addition to our family. Here's to hoping my godson, Robby, gets his hockey skills from his dad's side of the family and his golf skills from his mom's.

My travel bestie, Kerri, and I have known each other since we both moved to Philly for our first jobs after college in 2013. Her infectious personality and “let’s do it” mentality have made our many adventures, from Cabo to Wrightsville to Zion, so much fun. No matter where we go or what we do, I always love the time we get to spend together.

They say it's better late than never. I became friends with Ian later in life and I am so glad I did because there has never been a better vibes guy on the golf course. The most important job for Ian as a groomsman is to make sure he finds a microphone the second Only Wanna Be With You by Hootie comes on. In Drake Maye we trust.

I met Elise during one of my many trips to Raleigh before moving here, and it was clear we were meant to be friends when we coincidentally ended up living in the same apartment building when I finally moved in 2021. Our dogs even had the same name! Since then, she’s been my favorite partner in planning everything from bar golf to New Year’s, bachelorette, and birthday parties. 

Elise

Carl asked me if I wanted to start a baseball team with him to join the local adult league and, of course, I said yes. At that point, we were just two guys from neighboring towns who knew of each other through sports. He quickly became the friend who I would go to Boston championship parades with, obsess over Tiger Woods with and praise the ACC with. All of these still apply today.

Jenna and I met and immediately bonded over our shared love of golf. I think my first text to her was "Should we book a tee time this Saturday?" We quickly became such close friends that it feels like we’ve known each other forever. We're always laughing together, both on and off the course, and one day we’ll finally get those holes-in-one.

Jenna

Danny and I were randomly placed on the same floor (K9) at UMass freshman year so it's crazy to think how close our friendship got. Even though he's a Yankee fan, it didn't stop us from living together junior and senior year. We made countless memories going to hockey games, catching the B43 to Puffton and the townhouses, and eventually spending every Thursday and Friday night at the Pub and Stackers.

Robby is Billy's nephew and godson... and also the cutest person that will be attending the wedding. He has been the greatest bundle of joy for us both, and we can't wait to have him be a part of our big day.

Guests staying at The Westin can enjoy the resort’s beautiful private beach (in addition to multiple pools), located on hotel property. If you’re staying elsewhere on the island, you’ll find easy public beach access at Folly Field or Burkes Beach.

What is the dress code?

The wedding dress code is formal and guests are encouraged to wear soft shades of blue, green, yellow, tan, or gray (prints are welcome). Please reference the Dress Code page for more detailed information and photo inspiration.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests listed on the invitation.If your invitation includes a guest, it will appear on your RSVP.

What is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by August 10 so we can finalize plans with our venue and vendors. We truly appreciate you responding by the deadline!

Where should I stay?

We have reserved a room block at The Westin Hilton Head Island. Please visit the Hotel + Travel page of our website for booking details.

Is transportation provided?

Yes! Transportation will be provided between the Westin hotel and the venue. Please be downstairs in the lobby by 3:30pm, shuttles will depart by 3:45pm.

What time should I arrive?

If you are not taking the shuttle provided, please plan to arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the ceremony so we can begin on time.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that everyone keep phones tucked away during the ceremony so our photographers and videographers can capture the moment. We'd love for you to take plenty of photos during the cocktail hour and reception!

Are children invited?

We love your little ones! However, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration unless otherwise noted on your invitation.
